About Rebekah
Throughout my twenties as a new Registered Dietitian I thought I was doing “all the things” for good health. I ate plant based, I worked out a lot, I used non-toxic products, but there were many signs that my cycle & hormone health were suffering.
Painful cystic acne breakouts on my cheeks that lasted forever, irregular menstrual cycle, I felt controlled by my emotions, and suffered from pretty bad PMDD. Numerous other seemingly random symptoms plagued me, but all my labs were “normal”.
When I experienced a miscarriage in my first pregnancy, I felt so alienated by my body, but was told “we don’t do any testing unless someone has THREE miscarriages”. I was not willing to go through that horrific loss again and play Russian roulette with my fertility. So I went back to the basics of biochemistry, biology, and nutrition to support my hormones and overall health.
My second pregnancy was fraught with nausea and food aversions. The birth of my first daughter opened my eyes to the desperate need for women and mothers to be better supported and nourished through the transformative years of motherhood.
Then at one year postpartum I discovered that the problem bubbling under the surface all along was a diagnosis of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) from years of toxic mold exposure in my home. I had it all along, but did not know how to identify it until it was a full blown autoimmune disorder that left me exhausted and inflamed from basic activities of daily living.
I started pursuing training in functional testing and nutrition and started my own practice as a Women’s Health Dietitian! My desire is to help other women that have been abandoned by conventional medicine and left wondering why their body is betraying them. While also being present with my daughters & living in alignment with my God given feminine design.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughters, being active outdoors, and cooking old and new recipes in my kitchen.
Nutrition Philosophy
Rebekah believes food is medicine and takes a Functional Integrative approach to nutrition. Rebekah's philosophy is nutrition as a lifestyle. Not a diet or one way of eating fits everyone. Each person is different and has individual needs. Each client receives individualized nutrition care plans based on the client’s health goals, medical history, fitness level, nutrition knowledge and lifestyle.
Rebekah focuses on nutrient dense whole foods, which minimizes processed foods. When foods are left in their most natural state the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are more prevalent. Eating nutrient dense, whole foods as a lifestyle is proven to reduce the risk of disease and promote overall health.
Rebekah empowers individuals to transform their health and life through behavior change and by teaching them how to eat real food intuitively. She helps clients develop realistic and sustainable goals that will lead to long term success and provides encouragement all along the way.
